magazines

While working at EIU, I was involved with the production of the Alumni Association's magazine for more than 15 years. Over the course of that time, it had gone through a number of name changes, but it wasn’t until a complete overhaul - including title and style that it would become highly sought after. My role in that overhaul was all-inclusive, from branding to design to determining what content our alumni wanted in their magazine. Te final result was “Forever EIU”, a refined publication that was easy to read, cleanly designed and one that would offer flexibility in tight schedules for ease of production.

At Texas Tech Health El Paso, our MarComm team was charged with a similar challenge. “Alumni & Friends, was iiight on storytelling. And, while stories were written in-house, the design was handled by a print vendor. With out health sciences center’s 10th anniversary, I knew there would not be a better time for that overhaul, and we capitalized on the opportunity to rename the magazine so it aligned with an evergreen campaign launched that same year. The magazine is sill evolving, but what we love most is the flexibility of the use of “HERE.” “HERE” is not really a title, but a statement, and we can shift focus on the word with each theme and each issue.
